Wayfinding in Swedish Airports
To enhance the passenger experience, we developed a touch-based wayfinding solution with interactive screens placed throughout the airports. These screens provide travelers with searchable maps, live flight data, and a boarding pass scanner that delivers precise flight information and personalized route guidance—combined with recommendations for dining and shopping.
From the traveler’s perspective, the solution ensures access to the right information at the right time—whether that’s directions to a gate or nearby facilities like restaurants and shops.
My Role
The solution was developed in collaboration with MapsPeople. I was responsible for the visual design of the interface and contributed to the UX process in close cooperation with a UX designer.
Impact
By combining flight and navigation data with contextual airport services, the wayfinding solution helps reduce traveler stress, improves efficiency, and creates new opportunities for commercial engagement inside the airport.
This project was created while I was a digital designer at Combine A/S.
